Jesmond 1s battle through to secure home win.

This is the Captain's Log, stardate 3rd December 2016.
The team returned to familiar turf after many missions to distant lands. After last week's excursion to the frozen planet was cancelled we needed focus. Battle plans and formations were drawn up and we were destined to meet our old, friendly, foe Stokesley!
Team training did not show us in our best light, missed touches and wayward passes a plenty. A crafty tactic to give our opponent some misguided confidence I'm sure! Recruit Mathers returned from med bay, despite doctors orders, to provide backup should one of us fall by the wayside.
The whistle blew, battle commenced!
Stokesley switched straight to attack formation the JPC defence sustaining heavy pressure for 15 minutes, but the shields of Henry, Tim, George and Darling were up 100% and no shots were allowed to breach through.
Then the turning moment! Dan beamed up a ball into the atmosphere, catching the forward pressing Stokesley unaware, Mike was the first to spot the ball re-entering and volleyed it across field to Craig who smashed it back across the box. Mike, turning on his hyper drive, sped forward and reached out at full stretch to break the deadlock! Elation, JPC had landed the first blow!
We had our tails up. The midfield three of Dan, Steve and Nick combining to break down play and release attacks down either wing. Tight dogfights ensued in and around the Stokesley D resulting in two further goals from Steve and Mike, dispatching from close range!
JPC were up at half time but a second wave of Stokesley’s attacking force was imminent. Much like the first half wave after wave of attack ensued. This time the JPC defense was twice breached. The first a close range shot that found its way through an entanglement of sticks. The second via a robust driving move down the left which found a gap through. At 3-2 and the game tightening Greenshields, literally, single handedly recharged the defensive blockade, repelling shot after shot.
JPC reorganised and once again found their voice, even junior cadet Andy was heard screaming ‘Come On!’ along the flank. Tim switched to warp speed driving through the defense until a klingon on his starboard bow pulled him dramatically to a halt. One more JPC counter drive the keeper drawn out and rounded by Craig...an opening...a chance...a shot…a diving player...a block...a penalty flick! Who was going to take it...well Mike of course, by virtue of being the only man out of the huddle. A tense pause, a cautious glance, a goal despatched high to the left.
JPC held out, solid and resilient and ready to go yet again boldly where no man has gone before!
What a game, what a sport, what a group of players!
Captain logging out.
